To run the JAVA and Desktop versions of DealStation™, the client must be able to access port 8000 on MG servers. This allows for real-time data transfer to and from the client for instantaneous updates. Please refer to the manual of your software or hardware firewall/proxy to make the necessary configurations to open port 8000.
Many personal software firewalls, when installed, automatically prohibit access to all non-standard ports, thus restricting the operation of DealStation. Refer to the documentation of the software package to make the necessary changes.
Note: DealStation™ Lite Edition (see
Trading Platforms) does not use a socket connection and is therefore able to be accessed via standard Web Browser through most firewalls/proxy servers.
If you are on a corporate network, a corporate firewall might be blocking access to the necessary ports. If this is the case, your network administrator should make the necessary configuration adjustments to allow for operation of DealStation™.
| MG Server IPs: | 67.90.45.1 - 126 |
| | 209.11.217.226 - 254 |
| | 216.112.127.129 - 254 |
| Ports used by DealStation™: | port 8000 |
| Ports used by Charts & News software: | port 8001 |
NOTE: DealStation™ JAVA and Desktop versions
require the client's computer to have unrestricted access to port 8000 on MG servers. The DealStation™ LITE edition works on the standard HTTP protocol and therefore does not require any additional ports. The Charts & News software requires that the client's computer has access to port 8001 to work in real-time mode. If connection to this port is not available, Charts & News will function in "pull-data" mode.
