Account Status Report

The Account Status Report is an extremely valuable resource for traders. It contains unique account information, such as available margin and account equity, as well as a complete record of all account activity. To access the account status report, click on the View Menu at the top of the screen. This will activate a drop down menu with an option titled “Summary Report”. After you click on “Summary Report”, another pop-up window will appear. In this new pop-up window, select the time frame for your report. You can choose to generate a report for the day, week, month, quarter or year, as well as since inception. To select the appropriate time frame, click on the input box labeled “Period”. After the appropriate option is selected, the Account Status Report will be generated once the request is submitted.

The report is broken down into the following four parts: Account Balance, Open Orders, Open Trades, and Settled Trades.

Account Balance

Begin Balance – The amount of dollars present in the account at the beginning of the requested period.
Deposit - All funds placed into the account after the beginning of the requested period.
Withdrawal – All funds taken from the account by the account holder.
Adjust – All monetary changes made to the account equity that did not result from deposits withdrawals or normal trading activity.
IBComm – The number under this heading should always read zero.
Trade P+/L- – The total amount in U.S. dollars that the account has profited or lost as a result of trading activity, including rollover charges.
Current Balance – The amount of funds in the account prior to adjustments made for profits and/or losses being associated with open trades.
Total Revalue – The profit or losses that would result from all the open trades in the account being liquidated at current market prices.
Equity – The Current Balance minus Total Revalue.
Used Margin – The total amount of margin being used to hold open trades.
Usable Margin - Equity minus Used Margin.

Open Orders and Open Trades

The Open Orders and Open Trades sections provide details on every OPEN order and trade remaining on your account.

Settled Trades

The Settled Trades portion of the Account Status Report area provides information regarding positions that have been liquidated during the time period covered by the report. The report contains the exact time and reason why the position was closed. There are two possible entries in the reason column: ASKING or MARGIN. Asking means the trade was closed by an action originated by the trader. Margin means the Deal Desk liquidated the position on insufficient equity in the account to support the minimum margin requirement demanded by existing orders.
