The most convenient way to sample DDE Provider in real-time mode is to test it in Microsoft Excel.
To start the DDE Provider, go to Start->Programs->Mgforex DDE Provider->DDE Provider.
(you will see the screen below)
Type your account information in the "Username" and "Password" fields.
NOTE: Free Demo Accounts will not allow you to use the DDE Provider.
The "Server" field contains the IP address of MG DDE Broadcasting Server. In most cases, you will not have to change the information in this field, however in case of connection failure, you will have the ability to try different MG servers.
To sample the program using Microsoft Excel, go to Start->Programs->Mgforex DDE Provider-> Sample Client. The following window appears:
Now, you should see the following:
For verification purposes, select a cell with a rate in it, and you should see the following formula: "=MGFOREX|Rates!GBP".
(Microsoft Excel DDE link format is =Server|Topic!Item. DDE Server name is MGFOREX, DDE Topic name is Rates and DDE Item name is GBP.)
